Product Description

ACNE GEL 5% and ACNE GEL 10%

For Acne-Prone Skin

ACTION

This excellent acne medication is designed to kill acne bacteria below the surface of the skin, reduce (in animation and peel the pore lining, thus loosing the follicular debris and sebum. Because the medication is in a water-based gel consistency, penetration of the active ingredient is superior to those over-the-counter (See Technical manual for more detailed information). The 3% sulfur added to the medication increases the potency of the medication as well.

USAGE

Apply to clean, dry skin one to three time daily. Avoid eye area. This medication is extremely effective when used properly (see manual for detailed usage information on Benzoyl Peroxide). The 5% solution is for normal/dry skin and the 10% for normal/oily skin. There is a natural tendency for an individual (particularly with ody skin types) to build up a tolerance to a medication with log-term use. The main factors in usage recommendations deal with strength and frequency of usage. The following guide is recommended once the strength is determined:

* Day 1-3 Leave on 15 minutes then wash off. * Day 3-7 Leave on 30 minutes to 1 hour then wash off * Day 7-14 Leave on 1 -3 hours then wash off * Day 14+ Leave on overnight * Day 21 + If desired and the client is not feeling dry, may use twice daily *

Keep in mind that this guide may be adjusted :0 meet the specific need of the client For example, many clients have "combination" skin with a very oily T-zone and dryness around the face. In this case you may want to have the client start with a 5%, but m several weeks incorporate the 10% only for the oily T-zone. Client must avoid the eye area and if discomfort or irritation occurs, reduce strength or length of time the product is left on the skin. Occasionally, having the client discontinue use for a day or so and then resume usage insufficient. A small percentage of the population is allergic to Benzyl Peroxide which would result in temporary swelling, dryness and peeling of the skin. If this should occur, discontinue use, rinse off and the irritation should subside and skin normalization will occur shortly

After one month of usage, if a client is n0 longer feeling dry and the acne is under control, keep them at that strength and frequency. However, if the skin seems t0 be adapting to the medication and there is acne recurring, you may need to increase the strength (i.e.from 5% to 10% or to 5% with Sulfur). At some point the skin with level out with an ideal strength that will control the acne and not over dry the skin. Mild peeling is normal in the early phases of clearing and is actually helping to peel away congestion and loosen the impactions. Extraction's are much easier when performed one week after a client has been using Acne Gel 5% and 10% product
